Whats a nice style of dress suitable to wear for a christening?

I'm going to a christening in a few weeks and I'm looking for a suitable dress to wear, however all I seem to see in shops and catologues are maxi dresses (although I think they're nice they don't suit me, I have a bigger bust so I find maxi dresses look shapeless on me and make me look two dress sizes bigger than I am). Can anyone suggest a nice style I could wear thats more flattering?
