What is the bright side of facing a cold winter?
I live in Minnesota where the weather turns seriously frigid at this time of year. It doesn't get back to a tolerable temp for 5 or 6 mos. Our avg. winter temp is around 20F (-7C). Especially now in the autumn, the sun is scarce. Even when it's sunny in the winter, it's too cold to expose your skin outside. I'm jonesing for some vitamin D! It's depressing and I find it difficult to think positively. Then today 2 things happened that reminded me that there are some good things about temps below freezing: The 1st was on the news. They were interviewing a man in soCal, who had just moved from MN in June. He had to evacuate his home due to the fires & it was destroyed. He said he was so happy to get away from the hles of winter. Then he said: "A blizzard looks pretty good right now." Later, I was putting groceries I had just bought in the trunk of my car & I thought about how I didn't have to worry about the frozen stuff melting on the way home. Any straws for our grasping pleasure?
