Should I include my community service on the job application?

I am applying to some stores like The walking company, banana republic, eddie bauer, and pottery barn. I put that I worked at a retail store where they ask for job experience. But since I am 17, thats really the only job i have had. But I have tons of community service. I included the community service descriptions in my resume which i stapled to the application. Should i also list it under work experience or not? I am thinking it would seem silly and unprofessional. What do you think?
